Company registration and Moondrop's own history page agree on 6 November 2015 in Chengdu. Early products were the MIN series earbuds; the in-ear line (including Chu) is what travelled internationally. In 2021 the China Electronic Audio Association listed Moondrop among its top-ten hi-fi headphone and digital-audio brands - a trade-association ranking, not a laboratory medal.
