- Driver Configuration: Dual dynamic drivers (10mm driver dedicated exclusively to sub-bass/bass + 7.8mm driver handling mids and treble).
- Crossover Network: Internal electronic crossover separating low frequencies from the rest of the spectrum.
- Impedance: 10Ω (highly sensitive to source impedance).
- Sensitivity: 117.5dB (1kHz / Vrms), meaning it is very efficient but sounds best with a clean, low-impedance source.
- Connector Type: Standard 0.78mm 2-pin detachable cable interface.
- Plug: 3.5mm single-ended jack.
Sound Profile (The "Sub-Woofer" Tuning)
The ZERO is tuned strictly to the Harman Target 2019 preference curve, offering a very clean, separated, and academic sound signature:
- Bass: The standout feature. Because it uses a dedicated 10mm bass driver, the sub-bass is deeply extended, heavy, and physically punchy, yet it cuts off sharply before hitting the lower-mids. This creates a distinct "sub-woofer" effect where bass hits hard without making the rest of the music sound muddy.
- Mids: Exceptionally clean, lean, and forward. Female vocals and instruments sound highly detailed and transparent, though some users find the lower-mids lacking "warmth" or "note weight."
- Treble: Smooth, crisp, and well-extended. It offers good sparkle without being overly harsh or sibilant, staying true to a studio-reference tuning.
- Technicals: It offers excellent imaging and detail retrieval for $50, making it an absolute top-tier choice for competitive gaming (like tracking footsteps in FPS games).
Design, Comfort, & Fit Warning
The physical build features a stunning, translucent deep-blue shell with a 3D-printed texture that shifts under light. However, there is a major comfort caveat:
- Nozzle Size: The nozzle diameter is a massive 6.8mm.
- Fit Impact: This wide nozzle can cause physical ear fatigue or pain for users with smaller ear canals, making tip rolling (finding alternative ear tips) highly common for this model.
